The sad story of Rascal

Everyone has been asking me what happened to Rascal, so I am finally writing down the story!!

(sorry if i misspelled something, or my grammar is weird, this was a long blog and I am tired!!)

When I got back from church on Sunday I was in my room about to take a nap. Right when I was ready to fall asleep I heard my dad come running inside saying "Rascals dead Rascals dead!" I ran outside as fast as I could (without changing my skirt, or grabbing shoes) At first I thought he was ran over by a car, but then I saw the blood dripping from my dads hand and knew something else had happened. I heard dogs barking down the street and took off running. As I got closer I saw Rascals leash on the ground and then looked over and saw Rascal being torn apart by three other dogs.

Apparently my Dad was walking Rascal and he got too close to the fence and the other dogs grabbed Rascal by the neck and pulled him through the fence and bit my dads hand in the process.

Without really knowing what to do I started screaming and yelling and shaking the fence as hard as I could. The dogs were mean and vicious and I was scared out of my mind. This whole time I already thought Rascal was dead, he was rigid and bloody and I couldn't tell if he was still alive. Finally I did the only thing I could think of and I jumped over the fence. I found something on the ground and threw it at one of the dogs. The smaller dog and one of the big ones backed off, the biggest of the three stood over my dog and stared me down. I stared back and finally said "get back" and the dog backed off. Not until I picked up Rascal did I realize he was still alive. I screamed for my mom and she came around the corner and I handed Rascal to her. We got to my house, checked on my dad and got in the car to take Rascal to the Animal Hospital.

After driving 90 on the freeway and flipping at least 2 people off we made it there and ran Rascal inside. At first they didn't really know if he was going to make it, they said they couldn't tell until they took x-rays to see if the bites have punctured or bruised any major organs. Amazingly enough, nothing was seriously injured. The Vet was worried about a couple of things so Rascal stayed the night to get stitched up and to be monitored. The next morning me and my mom went and picked him up, the Vet said everything looked normal and that he was stable. The one thing she said was that he needed to Pee sometime before 4, if not we would have to bring him back.

Around 4 my parents took rascal back in because he hadn't gone to the bathroom yet. They checked everything out and told us that it still looked okay and to wait overnight to see if there was any change. Sadly, I had to go back to Cedar that night so I had to say goodbye and just hope he would get better.

So far things are looking so much better! He even pooped today (kinda gross, but thats a good sign) As for the mean horrible dogs... The one that bit my dad is Quarantined for ten days, after that he is let out and still has 2 more chances until he is put down. That is, if he hasn't done it before. The other two are basically let off the hook. When the police approached the owners about the situation they both said they weren't liable for what had happened and they aren't going to pay any for about the $2000 vet bill my parents now have. I'm pretty sure my parents are planning on suing, but we don't know how strong our case it yet.

I should mention that my dad is okay. He had eight stitches in his finger and they bandaged up his other arm that was scratched by the fence, everything else is fine. My dads best friend is Rascal, so if anything happens to him my dad will be devastated. Cute little side note... When my dad was in the hospital for over a month Rascal for the first couple days was so sad. He would sit by the window and wait and my mom said he wasn't eating really good the whole time.

Rascal is doing better and I just hope he gets better fast because if you have ever met him he is the happiest dog in the whole world. I decided if something happens to him I'm going to get his paw print tattooed on my somewhere (okay, maybe not, but how cute would that be?!)

A couple things I found out doing some research on the Utah Laws regarding animals:

If I get the dogs that did that to Rascal to chase me I can kill them.

Utah Code Title 18 Chapter 1 says: Every person owning or keeping a dog shall be liable in damages for injury committed by such dog, and it shall not be necessary in any action brought therefor to allege or prove that such dog was of a vicious or mischievous disposition or that the owner or keeper thereof knew that it was vicious or mischievous; but neither the state nor any county, city, or town in the state nor any peace officer employed by any of them shall be liable in damages for injury committed by a dog when: (1) The dog has been trained to assist in law enforcement, and (2) the injury occurs while the dog is reasonably and carefully being used in the apprehension, arrest, or location of a suspected offender or in maintaining or controlling the public order.

Movie Night!

I just barely finished watching Eclipse!! It was such an amazing movie. I have to admit I HATED Twilight and then New Moon did get a little better... but this one was soooo good!! I recommend everyone to go see it! One of the best parts was that I got to see it with all my Wingers girls. I love them all and we all had so much fun eating junk food and talking for 3 hours before the movie started! (pictures to come) Even though I loved Eclipse I loved the new Harry Potter trailer even more!! I almost cried. November will be a good month!

Movie Night

Its been a long time.

I always slack on blogging. SORRY! I actually did blog like a week ago, but right after I did I erased it. It was mostly a bunch of stuff on how Michael is bugging me and making my life really difficult, but those problems are solving themselves these days.

So much has been going on I don't even know where to begin. Summer in Cedar is not as much fun as I thought it would be. I work most of the time, and the other time I am hanging out with the same six people. Don't get me wrong I love hanging out with "the boys". But because me and Michael broke up it's hard to come over and hang out when he is there giving me attitude and trying to fight me on everything I say. (but like I said, I won't have to deal with that much longer)

Things between me and Michael have been getting better. About once a week we get in a big fight again and have to 'talk' to get it out. Last night for example we apparently were yelling so loud at each other the cops were called and ended up busting the party we were at. Two of my friends got under age drinking tickets (but that is another story). Anyway, I hope that's the last time we fight, but knowing how stubborn we both are it won't be.

I almost moved home. I was so sick of being in Cedar and doing the same stupid thing every night that I was ready to talk to Ina and move home for the whole month of July. Bryant made me realize that even if I did leave my problems would just be waiting for me when I got back home. Plus, Wingers in Cedar gets really busy in summer and I would hate to pass up all the money.

USA lost today and it was really upsetting. I watched all their World Cup Games and I really wanted them to make it farther then they did. Oh well, we have 2014 to look forward to. A bunch of us want to go to Brazil for the World Cup... we will see if that happens, but hey, Ill be 24 probably not married and be making a lot of money. So maybe I will go do that.

Finally, I'm going to San Diego for the 4th of July. I am so excited and I can't wait for friday so i can leave Utah for a little bit and clear my head!

I haven't blogged in forever. I used to be so good at updating my blog, lately I have been a really big slacker. Well, so much has happened!! Where do I even start?

In Alpha Phi I hold the position of Social Chair. In Spring I am in charge of Sisterhood Retreat and Formal. This year they were held back to back. Sisterhood Retreat went really well! I planned everything way in advance so I wasn't stressed about anything! Formal went the same way, I think the day of I was kind of stressed but nothing too big. Everyone said it went really well, and I am so proud of the outcome, it was beautiful and way fun.

My date for formal was my boyfriend Michael. We have kind of been dating for 7 months, but we have only been "official" for a month. Its been kind of a struggle dating him. He works a lot so we don't really see each other a lot, but other than not ever seeing him things are pretty good. We used to live right next to each other so it was easier for us to hang out, but now that I don't live that close its harder. I am going to be in Lehi for about 3 weeks, so we will see how that works out.

I moved into a new apartment. My old place, with my old roommates was just NOT working out. I decided that even though you are really close with someone, some people are just not meant to live with each other. I don't regret moving into that place, I just regret decided to move in with the people I did. I think I lost a friend because of it, but I gained Eric as a best friend so it was so worth it. Anyway, Me Eric and Sarah now live together in a Condo in the north part of Cedar. I love it! We aren't really home a lot all at the same time, but so far everything has been going really good. In the fall Sarah is moving out and Andrew is moving in! That will be tons of fun as well. We are still looking for a roommate for Spring, so if you know anyone :D Oh, I almost forgot to mention the best part about living here! Our landlord is like the owner of the movie theatre, so when we pay our rent on time we get free movie tickets!!

I am getting my tonsils taken out in like a week! I am so scared, I have heard horror stories of getting your tonsils taken out, and I have to say I am not excited. I am glad I won't be having any more sore throats, but 2 weeks of pain doesn't sound good at all. I have heard that people lose a lot of weight when they get them out because all you eat is like jello and soup. Awesome!! I also have to move home for like 3 weeks so have the surgery and get better. Oh and for Miss Lehi. It is such a good feeling not to be in it, I get to enjoy it with everyone else.

Its Summer!! So far I have been having a blast. I have been to sand hallow twice, hiking around dixie rock, and the best part no homework!! I hate school, I really don't want to go back in the fall but I think I kind of have to.

Finally I am like 2 months away from becoming an Aunt! Natalie is so pregnant and I am so excited to get to spoil a little boy!! I am going to be its favorite Aunt :D
